Zehra Murthy, PhD Molecular Biology and Genetics
Kaliyaana is led by our fearless female founder, Zehra Murthy who launched the brand at age 70 after a 40-year career as research scientist working in cell and molecular biology and genetics.
Our story began on our home farm, with lavender grown by Zehra.
Motivated to challenge the current buzzwords mis-used in skincare today she reverted to first principles of human biology: Healthy skin comes from proper cell division, healthy collagen production, and efficient dead cell removal supported all through vitamins delivered to the dermis in a non-comedogenic medium.

Our infused oils and blends are purposefully designed with high amounts of vitamins and antioxidants. Our Ghanian shea butter supports the women who create it.
